Heart valve disease

Heart valve disease develops when one of the heart’s valves is not working properly. Sometimes a valve doesn’t open as much as it should (called stenosis). And sometimes a valve doesn’t close as tightly as it should (called a leaky valve, or regurgitation). But today there are treatments for heart valve disease such as valve repair and valve replacement. Here you can learn about heart valve disease and the various treatments you and your doctor might consider.
